Julia Wynn Safer is an artist from the southeastern United States whose art reflects her interest in nature, art history, and the art-making process. The formal aspects of color, pattern, and texture are frequently featured in her works. While she considers herself primarily a painter working in mixed media, she also works in video, music, and photography - animating and creating music for many of her paintings. Safer earned an MFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design and, when not working in her studio, she teaches online courses in art appreciation at several colleges.
